Basic Arena Details
Arena Descriptions: Bucky's arena was set in a large and deep stone basin with sloping sides that eventually reached sheer levels, making them impossible to climb and, even if they had, the barrier ran around the edge of the pit. There were small and scraggly bushes and large boulders littered about, but the main interest were the caves. Small caves were the only means of shelter and they were all set below a certain elevation. There were snake and bat mutts that would attack tributes and poison them or given them diseases and certain parts of the rock were weaker than others, causing it to cave in when weight was put on it and drop whichever unfortunate tribute into a deep pit they wouldn't be able to get out of on their own. The last and most deadly threat was the constant rain that slowly filled the basin (and a good number of the caves) up with with water.
Cornucopia Events: The pedestals around the cornucopia (which was at the very bottom of the basin) were in a circle twenty feet from it. When the countdown ended, over half the tributes ran for the cornucopia, Bucky was among them. He got to a supply pack and a sickle sword. Armed and toting supplies, Bucky could have easily made a run for it. Instead, he went on the attack and (along with the careers) mowed down seven other tributes in cold blood. His last kill at the cornucopia was one of the careers, leaving two behind as the fourth had died earlier. Five minutes later, the rain started and wouldn't stop until the end of the arena.
Mid-Arena Events: After leaving the cornucopia, Bucky spent the first night alone in one of the caves and kept himself warm and dry with the tarp he'd gotten in his supplies. The next day he came across a tribute who'd fallen into one of the pit traps. He'd broken his ankle and Bucky couldn't reach with his sword to finish him off, so he kicked a nearby snake muttation into the hole with the boy and let it finish him off. If the kid's screams bothered him, he didn't show it. A few hours later, he found the girl from D10 and they decided to make a pact to share supplies and keep warm, especially since there was no hope of drying off. By this point, the cornucopia was already covered with water.
Over the next couple days, Bucky went out into the rain and mercilessly killed whoever he came across who wasn't his districtmate who stayed in their base. At the end of the second day, he returned to base to find his districtmate missing. He immediately set out to find her and finally did nearly a hundred feet away, head shoved into one of the lower caves that had already filled with water, and an arrow sticking out of her back. She'd been chased down and murdered and the only tribute left who used arrows was one of the careers. Bucky hunted him down, cut his hamstrings and threw him into the pool of water in the center of the basin to drown as she had.
Finale and win: With his brutal murder of another career, there were only four tributes left in the arena: Bucky, the female career from 2 and the female tribute from 11. Bucky didn't bother sleeping and with his food supplies coming from sponsors only, all of his time was dedicated to hunting the last two tributes down. Between the downpour and his exhaustion, he didn't notice a snake muttation on a rock he was passing by and it bit him on the arm. He killed it, but the venom was already doing it's job in blurring his vision and kicking up a raging fever. He was dying slowly and he finally stumbled over the last two tributes. The career slit the girl from 11's throat and turned to head for Bucky. She had a regular sword and the curve of his tore into her arm as hers sliced his side. With his vision going, he took one final desperate attempt and lunged at her, using his bigger build and greater strength to over power her and cut off her head. He collapsed soon after, but Capitolite paramedics cleared his system of the venom before it could shut his body down.
Out Of Arena
Pre-Arena: The fact Bucky took care of his sisters and mother would have been played up and it would have been common knowledge that he had two close friends in Steve and Peggy, especially since he volunteered for Steve and Peggy kissed him on the cheek on camera at the reaping.
Post-Arena: Bucky's post-arena was a social media blur. No one outside of peacekeepers and political circles knew why, but Bucky punched the head peacekeeper in the jaw almost as soon as he got back to 10. They detained him and declared him mentally unstable. About a week later it was discovered he'd killed himself in captivity and the whole thing was spun as a massive tragedy before being swept under the rug for years.
Caesar Show Pre-arena: Bucky's prep team used his love of his family and friends and his origins to spin him this persona of being a nice and sweet 'Good ol' boy' who would be the perfect kind of man parents would want their daughters to date. This was to make him seem less threatening and make his turn around in the arena more of a surprise. Consequently, his show with Caesar was full of charm and smiles and flattery.
Caesar Show Post-arena: The fact his persona switched so suddenly from nice young man to murderous nightmare was one of the first things brought up in the post-arena show, followed quickly by a question relating to Bucky's thoughts while he was dying from the poison. He still smiled and was still charming, but it was darker and more tired than before and he answered with complete honesty. He told Caesar he'd done it to make himself less of a threat and that his thoughts were only on Peggy and Steve there at the end. Especially Peggy's strength in her own arena and how she stabbed herself and still survived, he used that as something to hold onto to keep going as well.
